Beehive on Etsy| | |
| | | September 3, 2010
Etsy has quickly become one of my favorite places to shop. Iv started a plan to start my own store as well. This is the perfect outlet for handmade dresses I am working on.
To get to the point I came across this Couture designer featured on Etsy, Emily Ryan, an independent clothing designer located in Portland, Oregon. Couture has always been a word thrown around in the states in places that never quite live up to it’s European counterparts. Maybe because here in the good ol’ USA the way is to rush, quantity, get the most bang for your buck as they say. This methodology doesn’t work for true Couture. One must have superior patience.
What I love about this work is the relaxed fabrics with unique treatments. Marrying our need for comfort and artistic expression. This is a trend I would like to see continue. Linens, cottons, and silks in muted colors cut and shaped in inspirational ways that truly express the feminine.
Down With Hackers| | |
| | | September 3, 2010I’v been repairing hacks on variosu sites of mine and it has slowed my posting. And we don’t like to admit it but a certain stylist has had trouble with her orders and is still waiting for her new pair of shoes.
Prepping for photo shoots, making music, and waiting for the hurricane. Feast your eyes on a few choice accessories. The purse is available on Etsy. If you don’t know Etsy you are missing out!

In a Sea of Green| | |
| | | August 4, 2010Floating in a sea of green grass, with light rain tapping on my skin. This is a simple cotton blend dress I bought in downtown LA at an end of season sale for $12.00 last year. The dress was originally a grey brown color. I took the color out and the process I used turned the fabric into a pale, creamy, golden hue. Michael Connors behind the camera. Again we shot at the farm in Massachusetts. Infinite treasures of beauty.
Some Other Old Looks| | |
| | | July 28, 2010Before I venture into putting up the new series of photoshoots I will start featuring I wanted to post these two lovely dresses, vintage dresses of my Grandmothers. Lucky for me both my Grandmothers had some amazing style and I have many pieces from both of them.
The first photo was taken on our equestrian farm in Massachusetts. My Mom and I decided to check out our woods which neither of us had explored in years.
The second photo was taken in Los Angeles by Marc Goldstien, it was actually the test shot for the shoot he was doing for Urb magazine featuring a musical artist. The first shot of the day.
Fashion History: Eco-fashion
| | | July 20, 2010The ‘Eco Fashion: Going Green’ exhibit at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City shows 250 years of the best and worst clothing from an environmental perspective.
Being on the east coast for now I may take a trip to the Big Apple just to check this one out. Check out the LA Times article here. The dress viewed is a 1865 two-piece “poison green” silk tulle dress dyed with arsenic that clearly represents fashion way back when was just as, if not more harmful environmentally that it is today.

There is an article in this issues Bazaar about Grace Kelly and Lynn Wyatt. Grace, something sometimes I wish I had a little more of. Something that never goes out of style in a women is grace in all she does.
An Ode To My Mother – A Fashionista
| | | July 18, 2010A women who knew how to travel in style. Back in the days where heels and a mini were preferred over velour sweat suits with rhinestones (I got one minus the rhinestones, its got a cute little cat on it called Puma).
Ruffles arent just for girls.
